33 members of various Police, Fire and EMS agencies from around the county completed training in Hazardous Materials over the past two weekends at the McDowell County 911 Center.

The Class taught by County Emergency Services Director Jimmy Gianato through RESA I Public Service Training helps to enhance McDowell County's ability to respond to incidents involving hazardous materials.

The individual who attended the class will certify to the Operations Level of Hazardous Materials response.

Once certifications are received, the County will apply for equipment from the State of West Virginia that will greatly help during times of disaster.

Additional training is being set up and offered through the County and the McDowell County Fire Fighter's Association.  All training is posted to the 911 Center web site.
